BUY NOW FOR $64There are two types of video filmmaker. The first are those who love the equipment, the technical side, the mechanical attributes of video and who's footage is almost always technically perfect. They are commonly called pixel-counters. I am not one of these. And I cannot teach this. And you should not seek these things if you want to inspire people.
The second category, in which I find a home, is the storyteller. I'm sufficiently qualified on the tech stuff to use the equipment effectively. But I do not dwell on it. Instead I spend my time learning creative skills. Not just how to capture a great scene, but when doing so dissect its components of light, shape, sound and form in the moment. Capturing the scene means doing all these things on the fly so that in the edit room, the true creative marvel comes home.Â
Capturing content and editing should never be considered two seperate processes, even though they appear to be. Storytellers edit in their heads while filming. And it's not difficult. It's just a change in mental gearing. Nothing more.
And is't now that the real fun can begin.

This course was excellent and it delivered exactly as promised at the start. I really enjoyed the informal, conversational, natural teaching style. He really got straight to the point, taught what was important, without getting bogged down in technical details, which can easily be found elsewhere. I have been into photography for over 30 years, but I've hardly taken any video. Now I feel well prepared for making professional-looking videos and film. Thank you!

Brilliant Course. This gets right back down to the basics of what really makes a good Film. Away from the plague of tech, color grading trying to look cinematic ect. You should be telling a story and not trying to look flash. This is what real film making is about. I highly recommend this course to anyone who wan't to make films and documentary's that tell a story and are not just pretty images.
